Neutral Beam Tritium
In the Neutral Beams, 90 % of the
Tritium gas went directly to the cryopanels. Following D-T
operations, the following operations were performed to reduce Tritium
- Deuterium Pulses
Beamlines were operated with (500) 0.3-second pulses using
- Cryopanels Warmed
The cryopanels were warmed to room temperature and the gas was
The beamlines were vented to 600 Torr of dry nitrogen and the gas
was processed again.
- Air Stream
An air stream a 2 scfm was blown through the beam lines for
several days and continuously processed.
- Drum Bubbler
Was used once the beamline was sufficiently cleaned. The air
stream passed through a bubbler, which removed the tritiated
water, and the exhaust was stacked.
